Agri-Therm’s new experimental prototype solid pulse injection feeder is a highly innovative intermittent solid pulse injection feeder design for all types of free flowing or cohesive biomass, powders, granules, catalysts and particles (polymers, rubber, coal, lignite, tar sands, oil shale, etc.). The SPI Feeder was designed for Hot, Harsh and High Pressure environments.
Wide range of feed characteristics: ultra fine powders (<30 μm), cohesive particles (Hausner powder ratio up to 1.4) and bulky particles (3cm+).
Innovative design: the proprietary feeder design eliminates backflow, plugging and downtime associated with conventional auger/screw feeders.
Reduced carrier gas usage: this system uses far less gas and energy than dilute-phase pneumatic transport feeders – this is very important for thermal processes. The SPI Feeder can achieve solid mass flow to gas mass flow ratio of more than 20x when optimized for applications.
Pressure normalization: the SPI Feeder uses dynamic-instant pressure balancing techniques to maintain a consistent feed silo to reactor vessel pressure differential, for additional feed rate control
